Lalitpur, October 16
The Federation of Women Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal (FWEAN), an umbrella organisation representing women entrepreneurs across the country, has received the ‘Ma Udhyami’ trademark from the government.
The federation has been working to develop and promote women’s entrepreneurship for the past 23 years.
After acquiring the trademark, the federation has launched a collective exhibition of products made by women entrepreneurs to support their promotion and marketing. The products will be showcased under the ‘Ma Udhyami’ trademark.
The exhibition, to be held at Heritage Garden in Sanepa, will feature products from more than 100 women entrepreneurs across Nepal.
The federation is prioritising products made from locally available raw materials, particularly those related to agriculture, handicrafts and value chains. It believes the use of a collective trademark will help promote these products.
According to a press release issued by the federation, the exhibition will bring together women entrepreneurs and business owners from the cottage, small and medium enterprise sectors, as well as exporters from various districts of Nepal.
The exhibition will feature stalls showcasing natural fibre products, Dhaka items, carpets, handmade paper products, organic food, agricultural products, sculptures, jewellery and decorative items.
The federation said the exhibition aims to establish the identity of products made by Nepali women.
