Janakpurdham, July 23
A woman was shot dead in Mukhiyapatti Musharniya rural municipality along the Nepal-India border on Saturday night.
Dhanusha police said eyewitnesses saw two unknown people on a motorcycle fire two rounds at a 35-year-old woman last night at 8:20 pm and flee towards India.
The woman’s identity has not been revealed. According to Dhanusha police, it is not clear whether the woman is Nepali or Indian.
DSP Bed Prasad Gautam said that the Indian police took the body for post-mortem as the incident took place on Indian soil.
Gautam said that Nepal Police and Indian Police are investigating the incident together. According to him, bullet casings were found in the no man’s land area.
