Two members of the same family died in a wasp sting incident in the Salyan district of Karnali on Monday.
The victims have been identified as Shobha Budhathoki (21) and her four-year-old daughter Prapti, permanent residents of Hamphal, Siddhakumakh rural municipality-1, informs the District Police Office information officer Santosh Khanal.
Another person sustained injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment in Shreenagar of the district.
They were stung by the insect while returning home from their paddy field.
The Budhathoki duo had also sustained injuries in the wasp sting incident and were treated at a local hospital in Shreenagar. After that, they were sent to the Kohalpur Medical College, but the child died on the way and her mother during treatment at the second hospital.
The bodies have been taken to the Salyan District Hospital for postmortem.
