Kathmandu, August 19
CPN-UML has urged Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane to take immediate steps to reshuffle the government, including Prime Minister Balendra Shah.
Speaking at a meeting of the House of Representatives, UML parliamentary party leader Ram Bahadur Thapa called on Lamichhane to initiate the process in his capacity as the RSP’s top political leader.
“RSP Chair should immediately take the initiative to reshuffle the government, including the prime minister,” Thapa said.
He warned that failure to do so could lead to a political movement.
“An option remains. Otherwise, to restore the issues of national interest, democracy and people’s livelihoods, an unprecedented people’s tsunami, larger than those of 1951, 1990 and 2006, will soon come from all four directions. It will certainly come,” he said.
