Chitwan, November 30

The main opposition CPN-UML’s 10th general convention that began in Chitwan on Friday was scheduled to end on the third day, that is Sunday.

However, the event is yet to be concluded and it is highly likely that the convention will end tonight.

The delay of two days has cost the party over Rs 15 million more than the allocated budget, informs the party’s central office secretary Sher Bahadur Tamang. However, the party is yet to calculate the details of the costs, according to him.

The party’s convention organising committee’s deputy coordinator Surendra Pandey says the added cost could be even more than Rs 15 million.

The party had allocated Rs 75 million for the event, according to Tamang. Earlier, the party had spent Rs 47.1 million during its recent statute convention in October.
