Kathmandu, May 15

The CPN-UML has accused the ruling alliance of rigging the local elections held on Friday.

The party had emerged as the biggest political force in the country in the 2017 local elections but is trailing behind this time.

In this context, the party’s General Secretary Shankar Pokhrel issued a statement on Sunday and said the ruling alliance mobilised bureaucrats and security personnel in the rigging before, during and after voting.

In the statement, Pokhrel has also highlighted 15 points that he claims would prove the rigging.

The UML has told the government to stop the activities that amount to rigging.
