Kathmandu, August 26
Senior meteorologist Min Kumar Aryal of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has clarified that the flooding in the Bhote Koshi River was not caused by rainfall.
Speaking to the National News Agency (RSS), Aryal said some parts of Rasuwa received light rainfall over the past 24 hours, with rainfall not exceeding 7 mm.
He said authorities suspect that the flood may have been caused by a glacial lake outburst and that an investigation will be carried out.
