Actress and model Sumi Moktan and choreographer Viju Parki have won the title of the first season of the Dancing with the Stars Nepal.

The grand finale of the event was held in Kathmandu on Saturday evening. Himalaya Television had broadcast the Nepali version of BBC’s Dancing with the Stars.

The television station’s chairman Dharma Raj Bhusal handed over the trophy to the winners during the event yesterday. They also won Rs two million cash and various gift hampers.

Meanwhile, Buddha Lama and Kebika Khatri became the first runners-up of the event whereas Priyana Acharya and Shubham Bhujel followed them.

“As long as an individual does not give up pursuing their dreams, they can get success. After winning this title, my career has begun in yet another new way,” Muktan said addressing the event. Moktan’s choreographer Parki said he was happier for the audience’s love than for the title itself.

The station’s chairman Bhusal said Himalaya TV successfully presented the first season of the show amid the Covid-19 pandemic, expressing his commitments to bringing more entertaining shows in the future.

As the Dancing with the Stars is over, the TV is now preparing to launch the next season of Voice of Nepal.
