Kathmandu, December 16

Meteorologists have forecast snowfall in the western mountainous districts of Nepal on Friday.

Meteorologist Manju Basi says the arrival of the westerly winds and westerly low-pressure system might result in snowfall. As the winds are moving eastwards from Sudurpaschim, the possibility is higher in the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces than in other areas.

Meanwhile, sporadic rainfall is also likely in Sudurpaschim tomorrow.

Following the snowfall and rainfall, the temperatures are certain to decrease in the regions gradually.

The division has alerted the public, in particular, air travellers, trekkers and mountaineers to ensure they are not affected by the weather changes.
