Kathmandu, October 15
Singer and stage performer Durgesh Thapa has flown to the United States for a musical tour covering 11 cities across the country. He departed on Tuesday evening.
The tour will begin on October 17 in Austin, Texas, and conclude on November 22 in Dallas, Texas. In between, Thapa will perform in New York, Baltimore, Columbus, Colorado, and several other cities.
“I’m excited to perform in the US for the first time,” Thapa told Onlinekhabar before his departure.
The tour is organised by RNR Groups LLC (Roshan Puri), Pande Homes LLC (Ganesh Pande), and AKB Company LLC (Ashish Bhadel), with Peace and Beauty, a non-profit organisation, as a co-organiser.
Organisers expect a large turnout, noting that this is Thapa’s first-ever US tour.
Roshan Puri said he was delighted to bring Durgesh Thapa to Nepali audiences in America for the first time, adding that the tour would not only feature music but also serve as a gathering for Nepalis living in different cities. Thapa will perform several of his popular songs, including “Dushman Hereko Heryai” and “Jane Bhaye Jam Maya.”
Singer Melina Rai will also join the tour, with both artists scheduled to perform together in Virginia on November 1, according to the organisers.
