Chitwan, November 26

Over 1,500 security personnel have been mobilised to guard the 10th general convention of the CPN-UML that will begin in Chitwan on Friday.

Officials in the district say they have sought the support of personnel from neighbouring districts also as mobilising the ones available in the district could not become sufficient.

Chief District Officer Asman Tamang says an integrated security plan has been formulated to ensure safety during the inaugural to be held on the bank of Narayani this afternoon and the closed-door session to be held in Sauraha on Saturday and Sunday.

Officials are mobilising around 200 traffic police for road management. Likewise, 300 additional personnel have been summoned from neighbouring districts to support 800 of the district, informs SP Om Adhikari of the District Police Office.

Likewise, 250 Armed Police Force personnel have been added to the existing 200, according to Tamang.

The National Investigation Department has also increased the number of its personnel in the district.
