Kathmandu, November 8
Beema Samiti [Insurance Board of Nepal], the country’s insurance industry regulator, has been rebranded as Nepal Insurance Authority with a change in its functions, duties and powers.
The regulator began working with its new identity on Tuesday.
Earlier in October, President Bidya Devi Bhandari approved the Insurance Bill approved by the parliament a month ago. The act has that the regulator shall begin working as the authority after one month.
The authority is also organising a special programme to make an announcement in this regard today.
