IGP finds no evidence linking Deputy Prime Minister Rabi Lamichhane to cooperative irregularities

Kathmandu, March 27

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Basant Kunwar has stated that no evidence of involvement in cooperative irregularities has been found concerning Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane.

During the meeting of the State Order and Good Governance Committee of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, Nepali Congress MP Dilendra Badu raised concerns about funds from certain cooperatives being directed to Galaxy TV, implicating a person named Rabi Lamichhane.

Responding to the query, IGP Kunwar remarked, “A complaint regarding this matter has been lodged. However, our investigation yielded no evidence, and it fell outside the purview of the law.”

He then addressed the Home Minister, stating, “The term ‘Rabi Lamichhane’ is now being used symbolically. However, based on the facts and evidence gathered thus far, there appears to be no foundation for such claims.”
