
Kathmandu, June 1
Onlinekhabar journalist Pusparaj Chaulagain has been awarded this year’s Health Minister Bloomberg Public Health Award.
On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day, the Ministry of Health and Population honored Chaulagain along with six others on Saturday. Chaulagain, who has been active in journalism for nearly a decade, has been reporting on the health beat for Onlinekhabar for around four years.
Along with a certificate of appreciation, each awardee also received a cash prize of NPR 50,000.
According to the Ministry, the award was given in recognition of their investigative articles, features, news reports, awareness programs, and consistent advocacy aimed at controlling and reducing the import, production, sale, distribution, and consumption of tobacco products.
Other award recipients include Ram Prasad Neupane (Nepali Health), Dr. Tara Singh Bam (Vital Strategies), Kalpana Acharya (Health TV Online), Buddhi Kattel (Medical Patra), Rudra Kadariya (Cancer Council Nepal), and Laxmi Narayan Dev.
Among organisations, Cancer Council Nepal was also honored.
