The Parewabhir section of the Prithvi Highway in Gajuri Rural Municipality-2 of Dhading will remain fully closed for two hours on Sunday as authorities continue repair work on the flood-damaged road.

The road section was damaged by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River in Rasuwa on August 26. Following the damage, the highway had been operating on a one-way basis.

According to the District Administration Office, Dhading, traffic along the Parewabhir section will be completely halted from 6 am to 6 pm on Sunday to facilitate repair works.

All vehicles, except emergency services such as ambulances and hearses, have been barred from operating on the section during the repair period, according to the administration.

The administration had also completely closed the section from 6 am to 6 pm on Saturday for repairs. However, as the repair work could not be completed, authorities have decided to halt traffic again on Sunday to expedite the work.

The administration has apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers and motorists and urged travellers to use alternative routes during the closure.
