It is now possible to book online tickets to visit the Patan Durbar Museum, a World Heritage–listed site of historical and cultural significance. The museum administration has stated that preparations to implement an online ticketing system targeting both domestic and foreign tourists have reached the final stage.
Head of the museum, Suresh Man Lakhe, said the online ticket booking system is currently in the trial phase. According to him, tickets are presently being distributed through two counters within the museum premises, and a QR code–based payment system had already been introduced earlier. “Now that arrangements have been made to allow ticket booking online from home, it will be more convenient for tourists. We are preparing to officially launch this system soon. It is currently being tested,” Lakhe said.
The museum administration believes that the online ticket system will eliminate long queues, save time, and improve tourist management.
The museum was visited by 313,300 tourists in 2025. Among them were 105,300 foreign visitors, including 43,053 from SAARC countries.
