OnePlus has launched its mid-range smartphone, the OnePlus Nord CE3 5G. The OnePlus Nord series has come a long way with the original Nord series and the CE series. The CE3 5G was launched in August 2023 in India and has been well-loved as the mid-range option.
On April 1, it was officially launched in Nepal and on the same day, its successor the OnePlus Nord CE4 5G was launched in India.
OnePlus currently offers the OnePlus Nord N200 5G, OnePlus Nord N30 SE 5G, OnePlus Nord CE 3 Lite, OnePlus Nord CE3 5G and the OnePlus Nord 3 5G in the Nord series in Nepal. The CE3 5G is a great option in the mid-range option and will compete against the Samsung Galaxy A55 5G, Redmi Note 13 pro+ 5G and Oppo Reno10 5G.

Design and display
The OnePlus Nord CE3 5G has a similar design to the Nord 3 5G with two circular rings on the back which house the triple camera setup. The upper ring has the main camera whereas the lower camera includes the remaining two cameras. Its flash is on the right and in between the two camera rings and shiny metal strips surround its camera rings. The back of the smartphone is made up of plastic and has a matte finish in both colour options.
The frame of the OnePlus Nord CE3 5G is also made up of plastic and has a matte metal brushed finish. The back is slightly curved to the frame making it easier to hold in hand. Coming to the front, the display is clean with narrow bezels of size 1.47mm on the sides and a 2.37mm bezel size on the chin.
The display has a centrally located hole-punch cutout which houses the selfie camera. The display features a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution of 2412 x 1080 pixels with a pixel density of 394 ppi. It has a screen-to-body ratio of 93.4 per cent and an aspect ratio of 20.1:9.
The display supports refresh rates including 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz for smooth and fluid transitions. It has a touch response rate of up to 240Hz and supports sRGB, Display P3 and 10-bit colour depth with HDR10+. Additionally, it has features like Eye Comfort, Auto Brightness, and Dark Mode to support the experience.
Performance and storage
Powering the OnePlus Nord CE 5G is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 782G chipset built on a 6nm process. Its octa-core CPU configuration includes a 2.7 GHz Cortex-A78 core for intensive tasks, three 2.4 GHz Cortex-A78 cores for balanced performance, and four energy-efficient 1.8 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. The chipset is paired with the Adreno 642L GPU which handles the graphics performance for gaming and multimedia. It runs on Android 13 with OxygenOS 13.1.
The OnePlus Nord CE3 5G comes standard with one memory option of 12GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It also has a Hybrid Dual SIM slot which allows users to use an external MicroSD card to increase the storage.
Camera
The OnePlus Nord CE3 5G features a versatile camera system to capture quality images and videos. The main camera is 50MP and is equipped with a Sony IMX890 sensor, with a sensor size of 1/1.56″ and a wide aperture of ƒ/1.8. The main camera also has optical image stabilization (OIS) for stable and shake-free output. The autofocus system, including phase detection autofocus (PDAF), gets accurate focusing, while electronic image stabilization (EIS) further stabilises for smooth playback.
Complementing the main camera of the OnePlus Nord CE3 5G is an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 112° field of view with the Sony IMX355 sensor and an aperture of ƒ/2.2 and a macro lens with a 2MP for close-up shots. On the video front, it supports 4K at 30 fps, 1080p at 30/60 fps, 720p at 30/60 fps, Super Slow Motion at 1080p at 120 fps and 720p at 240 fps, Ultra Steady Mode at 1080p at 60 fps and Time-Lapse at 1080p at 30 fps.
For features, the rear camera includes Ultra Steady Mode, Dual-view Video, HDR, Nightscape, Portrait Mode, Video Portrait, Pano, Macro, Slo-mo, Time-lapse, Text-scanner, Retouching, Filters, Google Lens, Extra HD and Pro Mode.
For selfies, the OnePlus Nord CE3 5G has a 16MP front camera with a wide aperture of ƒ/2.4 with features like EIS support and Steady Mode. The front camera also supports video recording at 1080p video recording at 30 fps steady mode recording at 1080p video at 30 fps and 720p video at 30 fps. The OnePlus Nord CE3 5G comes equipped with a 5000mAh battery and supports 80W wired charging to replenish the battery rapidly. In terms of connectivity, the device features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/6 for internet access across dual bands and Bluetooth 5.2 supports wireless connectivity with other devices. For network connectivity, it is compatible with LTE and 5G networks for fast and reliable internet connectivity. It supports dual Nano SIM cards and includes a hybrid slot for either a second Nano SIM or a MicroSD card, expanding storage capacity by up to 1TB. In terms of ports, it includes a USB 2.0 Type-C port for charging and data transfer.
