Design and Display
The OnePlus 12’s design is very similar to the OnePlus 11. The back has a large camera module with a Hasselblad logo. The camera module is larger than that of the OnePlus 11. There are three main rear camera lenses along with a 13-channel multi-spectral colour sensor in a square-shaped placement. The flash is just above the main camera which previously in the OnePlus 11 was in the camera module itself. The rings surrounding the camera lens are circular while there is a scaled shiny ring on the camera module itself.
The back of the OnePLus 12 is made up of glass and is curved along with the frame. The frame is shiny and is made up of an aluminium alloy. It is also a bit thicker and wider than the OnePlus 11. The overall design of the smartphone is quite premium.
On the display side, the OnePlus has increased the display size by a bit from the OnePlus 11. The hole-punch camera cutout on the OnePlus 11 which was on the left side has been changed and now is in the centre.
The OnePlus 12 has a 6.82-inch 3D AMOLED flexible curved screen with a screen-to-body ratio of 93.5 per cent. The display has a QHD+ resolution of 3,168×1,440 with a pixel density of 510 PPI. Its adaptive refresh rate, ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz helps the smartphone save battery when the screen is not in use.
The screen’s brightness has a global excitation maximum brightness of 1,600nit typical value, with a local peak maximum brightness of 4,500nit typical value. It supports 1.07 billion colours and 100 per cent coverage in various colour gamut modes (Natural, Professional, and Vivid).
Additionally, the OnePlus 12’s screen prioritizes user comfort and eye protection. It features an eye protection mode by default, supporting both bright eyes and low-frequency flicker reduction, along with a dimming mode that utilises a 3Pulse+1Pulse DC-like dimming/high-frequency PWM at 2160Hz, ensuring comfortable viewing experiences in various lighting conditions.
Moreover, the OnePlus 12’s display has a lot of features for excellent viewing experience, including screen colour mode adjustments, automatic and manual brightness adjustments, screen colour temperature customisation, ultra-clear picture quality enhancement, video colour enhancement, HDR video highlight mode, screen refresh rate flexibility, and support for Dolby Vision.
The display is protected with the help of the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus® 2 for accidental dropping and scratches. It also has an IP rating of IP65 which makes it dust and waterproof.
