Influential opposition leader Prakash Man Singh says statements and activities of incumbent prime minister KP Sharma Oli are against sentiments of the constitution, warning such activities could lead the country towards a constitutional crisis.

Nepali Congress lawmaker Singh claims the government is working towards making the new federal system a failure.

Addressing a function organised by his party in his Kathmandu constituency on Sunday morning, Singh appealed to his cadres to stay alert against the government activities.

“The amount of ego is increasing in the Prime Minister. It is unceremonious that he presents himself as if what he says has to be obeyed, and the constitution is nothing,” Singh said, adding Oli should correct himself.

He said people had lost hopes on the government as it was involved in multiple controversies.

Singh was of the view that the government was reluctant to independently probe corruption cases and book the culprits.
