NRB selling 275,000 kg briquettes made up of old banknotes

Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has called bids from agencies interested to trade with it briquettes made up of old banknotes.

The central bank says it has made 275,000 kilograms of briquettes out of the old banknotes that are not usable in the market.

Interested traders can submit their sealed bids to NRB regional offices located in Biratnagar, Janakpur, Birgunj, Pokhara, Siddharthanagar (Bhairahawa), Nepalgunj and Dhangadhi.

They have been given 45 days to submit the bids.

The bank says the price of briquettes will be fixed on a competitive basis.
