Kathmandu, January 7
The stock market continued its upward trend on Tuesday, with the NEPSE index rising by 6.16 points compared to the previous day. This marks the fifth consecutive day of market growth.
With today’s gain, the NEPSE index has reached 2,646 points. However, trading volume decreased, with a turnover of Rs 5.38 billion compared to Rs 6.3 billion the previous day.
Out of the listed companies, 126 saw their stock prices increase, 107 declined, and 10 remained unchanged. The finance sector showed notable performance, rising by 2.65%.
Other sectors also recorded gains: trade (+0.59%), non-life insurance (+0.42%), microfinance (+0.44%), life insurance (+0.67%), hydropower (+0.42%), and development banks (+0.80%). On the other hand, banking (-0.27%), hotels and tourism (-0.04%), others (-0.18%), and manufacturing (-0.25%) experienced slight declines.
Three companies achieved a 10% price increase: Saptakoshi Development Bank, Nyadi Hydropower, and PrabhuMahalaxmi Life Insurance. Additionally, Sindhu Development Bank (+9.7%), Samriddhi Finance (+9%), Samudayik Laghubitta (+8.6%), and Upper Hewakhola Hydropower (+8.3%) recorded significant gains.
Conversely, Atmanirbhar Laghubitta and Dolti Power saw their prices drop by 10%, while Bhugol Energy fell by 8.4% and Upakar Laghubitta by 5.6%.
In terms of transaction volume, Sindhu Development Bank, Saptakoshi Development Bank, Sahas Urja, NRN Infrastructure, and Bhugol Energy led the market.
