On Sunday, Nepal’s Supreme Court dismissed the royal rule-era Chief Secretary Lokman Singh Karki from his position as head of Commission for Investigation of Abuse Of Authority (CIAA).
Karki was appointed CIAA chief in May 2013 despite allegations that he suppressed the people’s movement. As news of Karki’s dismissal made headlines, people took to Twitter to congratulate the Supreme Court on the decision.

A few others found Karki’s dismissal insufficient and demanded for action against those who appointed him in 2013.
Will there be reaction against those bullshit who appointed disqualified person on honourable post ? #lokman

Court should now invalidate those involved in appointing #Lokman. This cartel can cross any limits to please its foreign masters. #Nepal

#Lokman S Karki lacked “high moral character”, ruled #Nepal‘s Supreme Court. What about the politicos who nominated him in the first place?

However, a few others were hopeful that the sacking would lead to a positive change overall.
#Lokman लोडसेटिङ हट्यो । लोकमान हटे । अरू कुहिरो पनि हट्दै जानेछ ।

End of Lokman’s excesses & abuse of power should give us an opportunity to reconstitute CIAA that fights corruption and respect rule of law.

This particular tweet cautioned on a possible reprisal if a similar appointment is made yet again.
Our leaders now pulling whiskers out of the dead tiger beware. Cats are said to have multiple lives n so may the big cats 🙂 #Lokman
