The Nepali Congress’s sister organisation, the Janasamparka Samiti in the United States, has elected a new leadership after holding its convention for the first time in 12 years. The organisation elected a new committee under the leadership of Munindra Nembang at its third convention. Nembang was elected president with 266 votes, defeating five other candidates for the post.
Binod Bhatt and Hari P Sharma were elected senior vice-presidents. Nima Bomjan, Sanjiv Shrestha and Shri Thapa were elected vice-presidents. Sushil Khatri was elected youth vice-president, while Narayan Khanal and Gautam Dahal were elected general secretaries. Arjun Bam and Anita Pariyar were elected joint general secretaries, and Narayan P Pokharel was elected treasurer.
Nepali Congress General Secretary Gururaj Ghimire and Joint General Secretary Prakash Rasaili ‘Snehi’ travelled to the United States to attend the convention of the Janasamparka Samiti.
