The Nepal women’s cricket team secured their third victory in the ICC Women’s Challenge Trophy, defeating hosts Rwanda by 38 runs on Tuesday.
Chasing a target of 104 runs, Rwanda were bowled out for 65 runs in 17.4 overs. Mary Bimenyimana was the top scorer for the hosts with 19 runs.
For Nepal, Manisha Upadhyay took four wickets, conceding just 10 runs in her four overs. Kabita Kunwar, Rachana Chaudhary and Riya Sharma claimed two wickets each.
Earlier, Nepal, batting first after winning the toss, scored 103 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Captain Indu Barma remained unbeaten on 33 runs, while Kabita Kunwar contributed 24 and Rubina Chhetry added 11. No other batter reached double figures.
For Rwanda, Henriette Ishimwe took three wickets, while Mary Bimenyimana picked up two. Belise Murikatete and Rosine Irera took one wicket each.
Nepal had also defeated Rwanda earlier in the tournament. The team has suffered two losses against the United States, while registering a win against Italy and a loss to Vanuatu.
With this result, Nepal have collected six points from six matches. They are yet to play against Italy and Vanuatu in their remaining fixtures.
