Nepal announces final squad for SAFF U-19 Championship

Kathmandu, April 27

The final squad of the Nepal U-19 national football team for the SAFF U-19 Championship 2025 has been announced.

Head coach Urjan Shrestha released the squad list on Sunday. The tournament will be held from May 9 to 18 at the Golden Jubilee Stadium in Arunachal Pradesh, India.

Nepal is placed in Group ‘B’ alongside hosts India and Sri Lanka. Group ‘A’ features Maldives, Bhutan, and Bangladesh. The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals.

Nepal will face Sri Lanka in their first match on May 11 and play India on May 13.

Nepal has previously won the title twice. Most recently, Nepal finished as runners-up at the SAFF U-20 Championship held in Nepal in 2024.

Defenders Madan Paudel and Ram Thapa, midfielder Lakshu Thapa, and forward Dharbendra Kunwar, who were part of the previous U-20 squad, are included in the team.

Similarly, players from the U-17 squad that participated in the SAFF U-17 Championship in Bhutan — including captain Subash Bam, goalkeeper Bhakta Bahadur Pariyar, forwards Sujan Dangol and Pawan Pakhrin, midfielders Krishna Bahadur Ale, Sabin Lungeli, and Bigyan Khadka, as well as defender Prashant Moktan — have also been selected.

Nepal U-19 Final Squad:

  • Goalkeepers: Bhakta Bahadur Pariyar, Upendra Lwagun, Bishesh Baniya
  • Defenders: Roshan Tamang, Rohan Moktan, Prashant Moktan, Kushahang Nembang, Madan Paudel, Ram Thapa, Vijay Urba, Siddhant Khadka
  • Midfielders: Krishna Bahadur Ale, Krishna Thapa Magar, Saroj Darlami, Lakshu Thapa, Sabin Kumar Lungeli Magar, Ranjit Lama, Subash Bam, Bigyan Khadka
  • Forwards: Pawan Pakhrin, Dharbendra Kunwar, Sujan Dangol, Prasun Tamang
