Nabin Nalbo’s ‘Temples, Nature and Pooches’ on display at Gallery Mcube

Lalitpur, August 21

Artist Nabin Nalbo’s solo exhibition Temples, Nature and Pooches is on display at Gallery Mcube in Chakupat, began on August 7.

The exhibition, curated by Manish Lal Shrestha, features Nalbo’s latest body of work developed during his Mcube Young Artists Fellowship Residency 2025. It will remain on display until August 30.

The exhibition explores the relationship between heritage, spirituality, nature and everyday urban life through paintings inspired by the cultural landscape of Patan.

Nalbo’s works depict historic alleys, traditional houses, carved wooden windows, hidden shrines and sacred spaces, focusing on details of the city that often go unnoticed.

The exhibition also features street dogs observed by the artist in Patan’s neighbourhoods, presenting them as symbols of coexistence and belonging. Flowers and plants in the paintings represent resilience, growth and renewal, creating a dialogue between the natural and built environments.

The Mcube Young Artists Fellowship Residency is an extension of Gallery Mcube’s annual Young Artists Show. The fellowship provides selected emerging artists with an opportunity for research, experimentation and creative development through a dedicated residency.
