Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah on Wednesday and expressed condolences over the loss of life and property caused by the floods in Rasuwa.

Modi said India stands in solidarity with the Nepali people during the difficult situation and is ready to provide all possible humanitarian assistance to Nepal.

Following the conversation, Modi said Indian officials were coordinating with their Nepali counterparts on rescue and relief efforts.

The floods, which entered Rasuwa from the Tibetan side before moving downstream through the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers, have caused extensive damage in Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and other downstream areas.
