The Marsyangdi River has been blocked near Chame in Manang after a flood carrying mud and debris from Ghatte Khola entered the river.
Mukti Prasad Khanal, Chief District Officer of Manang, confirmed that the river had been obstructed by the debris-laden flood.
“The river has been blocked by the flood carrying mud and debris from Ghatte Khola,” Khanal said. “The river flow is increasing, so the risk is also rising.”
A warning siren installed along the Marsyangdi River is currently sounding as authorities monitor the situation.
