Madheshi Morcha has disowned the political mechanism the government formed last night to review provincial boundaries to address the demands of the Madhesh-based parties.
The Morcha, in a statement, said that the Oli government announced the mechanism only to make his foreign visit successful, and not to address the demands of the Madesh.
Just few hours before Prime Minister Oli’s six-day state visit to India, the government on Thursday formed a one-member political committee under the leadership of foreign minister Kamal Thapa.
The Oli government was under pressure to form a mechanism before the Prime Minister left for New Delhi as Finance Minister, who visited India two weeks ago, had assured the Indian government that such a mechanism would be formed before Oli lands in the Indian capital.
