Under the Taxpayer Incentive Gift Program, the government on Friday announced the prizes for 1 to 15 Asoj.
According to the new announcement, Lal Babu Sah Kanu of Parsa has won the 15-day bumper prize of Rs 1 million.
Kanu was selected based on a Rs 21,000 lube oil purchase.
At an event held at the Ministry of Finance, Sumnima Udas, chair of the House of Representatives’ International Relations and Tourism Committee, along with House members Ganesh Karki and Santosh Rajbanshi, jointly announced the prizes for the first 15 days of Asoj.
The Finance Minister’s Secretariat said Bhishma Kumar Bhushal, Director General of the Inland Revenue Department, called Kanu immediately to congratulate him and asked him to contact the nearest tax office to claim the prize.
According to the Inland Revenue Department, 31,818,286 transactions (3 crore 18 lakh 18 thousand 286) made between Asoj 1 and 15, in which consumers took bills for online and cash purchases, were eligible for the gift program.
Of these, 247,979 were cash transactions with bills, while 31,570,307 were purchases paid online or by card.
