KLF team meets Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba

Kathmandu, May 1

A delegation from the Kalinga Literary Festival (KLF) met Nepal’s Foreign Minister Dr Arzu Rana Deuba in Kathmandu to discuss the upcoming fourth edition of the Kathmandu KLF, scheduled for September 2025.

The KLF team, including Patron & CEO Ashok Kumar Bal, Advisor and Padma Vibhushan awardee Sudarshan Sahoo, and Founder Rashmi Ranjan Parida, extended an official invitation to the Minister to attend the festival as Chief Guest. The meeting focused on enhancing literary and cultural collaboration across South Asia.

“It was an inspiring exchange underscoring the power of literature and dialogue in strengthening South Asia’s creative ties,” said Parida. He also expressed gratitude to Dr Bimala Rai Paudyal for her support.

The KLF delegation also met with several prominent figures including Indian Deputy Chief of Mission Shri Prasanna Shrivastava, Nepal Academy Chancellor Bhupal Rai, Nepal Art Council Chief SJB Rana, singer Ani Choying Drolma, writer Tulsi Diwas, and sculptor Kalu Kumale. Discussions centered on making the 2025 edition more vibrant and inclusive, engaging local communities and celebrating Nepal’s rich literary and cultural heritage.

The Kathmandu KLF aims to bring together writers, artists, intellectuals, and leaders from diverse backgrounds.
