Kathmandu reports another gang rape case; police arrest 4

Nepal Police has arrested 4 men for raping a woman.

Kathmandu, June 14

The Nepal Police has arrested four people on charges of raping a 24-year-old woman in Kathmandu.

The woman had called the police and complained she was raped by three people in a hotel in Bouddha in Kathmandu on Sunday.

It is learned that the woman had telephoned the police from the hotel. Following the call, police went to Lungta Guest House to rescue the woman.

After looking at CCTV footage, police arrested Ritesh Tamang, Rinjen Sherpa and Uttam Lama. The police also arrested the guesthouse’s owner, Dille Sherpa, on charges of letting the rapists escape.

Rinjen Sherpa had promised to take the woman home from Durbar Marg. But instead, he took her to Bouddha and raped her. Then, he let the other two rape her one by one.

The girl was taken to Prasuti Griha in Thapathali for treatment.
