Dhangadhi, December 5

A pedestrian died in a road accident at Bank, Krishnapur municipality-2 of the Kanchanpur district along the East-West Highway on Sunday morning.

Following the incident, locals have obstructed the road section, demanding compensation to the victim’s family and action against the car driver.

The 72-year-old Tara Nath, who was on the roadside for his morning walk, had died on the spot after being hit by an India-registered car (DLIZC 4754) at around 6:30 this morning.

The car driver, who is said to be a local of Kanchanpur, is on the run and police have launched a manhunt.

Following the road obstruction, hundreds of vehicles have been stuck halfway.
