Janakpurdham, November 4
Dhanusha District Court has ordered that Irshad Khan, the accused in the stabbing murder of 24-year-old Amin Safi in Janakpur, be sent to prison pending trial.
The bench of Judge Roshan Kumar Bhattarai issued the order on Tuesday. The court also ordered that Irshad’s mother, Saimun Khatun, be released on bail of Rs 100,000.
Safi was stabbed to death on October 8 at Sonarpatti, next to Janaki Temple in Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-5. Imtiaz Rain, a 25-year-old man, was seriously injured in the attack.
Irshad already faces two separate attempted murder cases for allegedly stabbing two people in Janakpur earlier. The court said a hearing on whether he should be held in custody in those cases is under way today.
