Kathmandu, May 18

Chinese ambassador to Nepal, Hou Yanqi, has paid a courtesy call on Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand on Wednesday.

The minister’s secretariat says the two officials discussed various matters related to bilateral relations during the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs.

On the occasion, Ambassador Hou Yanqi congratulated Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba via the home minister on successfully holding the local elections last week. She said she also visited many polling stations on the voting day and was happy to see people excited to vote.

In response, the minister said the government was currently preparing for the next fiscal year’s budget plan, adding he would expect continuous Chinese support in Nepal’s economic development.
