HONOR launched the HONOR X9a 5G recently in Malaysia and the global market. The Chinese company released the smartphone in Malaysia with the key feature including a curved AMOLED display and Snapdragon 695 processor.
HONOR has been competing in the Nepali market along with the other Chinese smartphone companies Xiaomi, OPPO and Redmi. But, the company hopes it can better its presence with the new phone launched recently.
The main feature of the new smartphone includes a premium curved OLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset, 5100mAh battery with some other notable features. Hence, HONOR X9a 5G can be a competitive phone in the range costing under Rs 50,000 in Nepal. (Price updated Rs 45,990)

Design and display
HONOR X9a 5G comes with a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with a 3D curved glass screen and 45° curvature, which is the main feature of the smartphone. With a 30-bit colour depth and 395 PPI (pixels per inch), the phone has a 120hz display rate. The phone is slick in design and has been protected with 0.65mm deeply reinforced glass.
Honor X9a 5G weighs 175 grams and is 7.9 mm in thickness. The phone is available in three variants of colours: titanium silver, emerald green and midnight black.
The punch hole on the display is comparatively smaller than those seen on other smartphones. Similarly, the display has a 1,080*2,400 pixel resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate.
The camera setup of HONOR X95a 5G includes a 64MP main camera with an aperture of F1.8. The camera is ring-shaped just like the one on HONOR X9. The rear camera also includes a 5MP ultrawide and depth camera with aperture F2.2 and a 2MP macro camera with aperture F2.4. The camera supports up to 9,216*6,912 pixels of image resolution and 1,080*1,920 pixels of video resolution.
The rear camera has many features and modes such as aperture, night, portrait (including beauty mode), pro, panorama, HDR, filter, stickers, time-lapse photography, super macro, high-res and capture smile with 8x digital zoom.
The front camera includes a 16MP sensor with an F2.45 aperture which supports 1,080*1,920 pixel video resolution and 3,456*4,608 pixel image resolution. The front camera has modes and features such as portrait, filter, capture smile, mirror reflection, timer, gesture control and face recognition.
Performance and Storage
HONOR X9a 5G, for its price and specifications, should have a bit better processor. The smartphone consists of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 chipset with Adreno 619 as its GPU. It offers some features including face recognition/one-handed mode. The smartphone has MagicUI 6.1 operating system which is based on Android 12.
The phone has 8+5(13)GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The RAM includes a feature called RAM Turbo which helps you to increase the RAM from 8GB to 13GB adding 5GB of virtual RAM.
Battery life, connectivity and others
HONOR X9a 5G has a lithium-polymer battery of 5100mAh, which keeps the phone running for almost two days, according to the company. The smartphone comes with a 10V4A standard charger with 40W wired charging.
The phone has slots for dual sims and a network standard of up to 5G, thus the name HONOR X9a 5G. The phone supports OTG and has Bluetooth 5.1 supporting wireless pairing. The phone comes with a standard USB Type-C, USB 2.0 for charging and wired activity.
The box comes with the phone (battery Included), supercharger, USB Type-C cable, eject pin, quick start guide, TPU protective case, TP protective film, warranty card and a Type-C to 3.5mm earphone jack converter.
The price of HONOR X9a 5G is expected to be around Rs 50,000 in Nepal. (Price Rs 45,990 updated)
