Kathmandu, October 27
Himalaya Television Network, the official broadcaster of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), will broadcast live commentary of the tournament’s matches in three languages.
The network said it has made arrangements for viewers to listen to commentary in English, Nepali and Maithili, allowing them to enjoy the matches in their preferred language.
According to the network, commentary in Nepali will be broadcast live on its main channel, Himalaya TV. Live coverage with English commentary will be available on the Himalaya Sports channel.
For the first time in the tournament, viewers will also be able to listen to live cricket commentary in Maithili. However, this facility will be available only on days when franchise team Janakpur Bolts play, the network said. On those days, Maithili commentary will be broadcast on Himalaya Sports 2.
The network said the introduction of multilingual commentary in live cricket broadcasts is expected to bring cricket fans from different linguistic communities closer to the NPL.
