Kathmandu, August 20
Heavy rainfall is likely at a few places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces on Thursday, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.
The Meteorological Forecasting Division said the country will remain generally cloudy during the day.
Some parts of the mountainous and hilly regions are likely to receive moderate rainfall or snowfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
Moderate rain with thunderstorms is also likely at some places in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, as well as in Madhesh Province and a few parts of the Terai in Koshi Province.
The division said one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces could receive heavy rainfall.
At night, the mountainous and hilly regions will remain generally cloudy, while the Terai will see partly cloudy conditions.
A few places in the mountainous region may receive moderate rain or snowfall with thunderstorms and lightning, while some hilly areas may receive moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms.
Moderate rainfall with thunderstorms is also likely at some places in the Terai areas of Koshi, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces, and at a few places in Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
