The Government of Nepal has appointed Gunakar Bhatta as the Vice Chair of the National Planning Commission.
Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Pratibha Rawal informed that the decision to appoint Bhatta was made during a Cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.
An MBA gold medalist from Tribhuwan University, Bhatta holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Williams College, Massachusetts and a PhD in Economics from Wayne State University, Michigan. Bhatta has also served on the Revenue Advisory Board of the Ministry of Finance, Government of Nepal. He is also an ex officio member of the Securities Board of Nepal, the securities market regulator.
