The government on Tuesday formed a five-member team to investigate a fire that broke out at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday evening.

The fire that began at a coffee shop in the sterile area of the airport at 8:15 pm yesterday had forced the airport management to shut down the airport for one hour and 10 minutes.

Following the incident, the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation formed the team led by the ministry’s joint secretary Suresh Acharya. Undersecretary Rajan Nepal, Nepal Police SP Kedar Dhakal, Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal Director Kul Prasad Simkhada and CAAN Deputy Director Bikram Gautam are members of the panel.
