Ganesh Puja in Kamaladi (Photos)

Kathmandu, August 27

The festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, observed every year on the fourth day of the bright fortnight of the month of Bhadra, is being celebrated today. On this occasion, devotees are thronging Ganesh temples to offer prayers.

Devotees have gathered at Ashok Binayak, Chandra Binayak, Surya Binayak, and Kamal Binayak temples across the Valley, including the Ganesh temple at Kamaladi in Kathmandu.

According to belief, Lord Ganesh was born on this very day in the Satya Yuga. On Bhadra Shukla Tritiya (Teej), devotees observe fasting and pray for a happy married life and prosperity, while on Chaturthi, they worship Lord Ganesh, seeking freedom from obstacles in life.
