Taplejung, September 24
A major fire broke out in Dobhan of Meringden Rural Municipality-3 in Taplejung district, destroying around 10 houses, authorities said.
A team of security personnel has been deployed to the area to help control the fire.
According to Armed Police Force Nepal Deputy Spokesperson Shailendra Thapa, personnel from APF Nepal No. 1 Kanchanjungha Battalion have been mobilised to the site.
The settlement has around 50 households.
Chief District Officer Umesh Kumar Dahal said the Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and local residents are jointly working to bring the fire under control.
A fire engine has also been deployed to the site, Dahal said.
