Kathmandu metropolis sets fees to shoot films, short films and advertisements at Basantapur Durbar Square

A fee has been set for shooting films inside Basantapur Durbar Square.

According to Kathmandu metropolitan city, foreigners will have to pay Rs 55,000 per day if they want to shoot at the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nepali, on the other hand, will have to pay Rs 20,000 per day.

Similarly, foreigners have to pay 25,000 rupees per day and Nepalis will have to pay Rs 10,000 rupees per day to shoot short films, documentaries and music videos in that area.

According to the metropolis a fee of Rs 60,000 per day has been fixed for foreigners shooting advertisement videos.

The metropolis has made such an arrangement while implementing the property tax for the current financial year 2023/24. The metropolis has issued a circular to all the wards asking them to implement this system of property tax from July 17.
