Everest Alliance Nepal is organising Everest Summiteers Summit 2025, scheduled to take place on May 27 at The Soaltee, Kathmandu.
The summit under the theme “Honoring the Legends, Inspiring the Future,” will bring together over 175 national and international Everest summiteers, along with experts and leaders from fields such as mountaineering, conservation, tourism, science, media, and government, representing 16 countries.
According to the organisers this event will be a “living tribute to human spirit, resilience, and triumph,” emphasizing not only the mountaineering feats but also the strength and legacy of those who have dared to conquer the world’s highest peak. The summit is envisioned as a “celebration of courage, fortitude, and the enduring will to rise.”
A highlight of the event will be a special tribute to Kancha Sherpa, the last surviving member of the historic 1953 Everest expedition. He will be honored with the prestigious “Everest Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Similarly the other highlights of the event will be a commemorative segment to honor the legacy of Everest climbers, honoring all Everest summiteers, past and present, for their remarkable contributions, panel discussions led by organizations like ICIMOD, IUCN, WWF, ZSL, NTNC, and Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality, focusing on mountain conservation and sustainable futures, art and photo exhibitions, and immersive Everest story rooms.
“The summit aims to be more than just a gathering, serving as a launchpad for global awareness and amplifying the voice of the mountains on the world stage,” reads the press release of the event.
