Kathmandu, September 20
Nepal’s Arika Gurung has advanced to the semifinals in karate at the 20th Asian Games, currently underway in Japan.
Competing in the women’s over-68kg kumite quarterfinal at Toyohashi Gymnasium, Gurung defeated Yara Naser of Jordan 7–1 to secure her place in the semifinals.
She will next face Beryultseva Sofya of Kazakhstan for a spot in the final.
