Belbari (Morang), August 13
An elephant calf was found dead at Belbari-3 of Morang district this morning. The dead calf which was around 4 years old was found in the private forest of locals—Anita Thapa and Rekha Thapa as per Chairperson, Yogendra Prasad Subedi of Belbari Municipality-3
A team from the Sub-Division Forest Office, Belbari, the Area Police Office, Belbari, and Armed Police Force, Basecamp, Laxmimarg, reached the incident site and started collecting details, shared Acting Chief of Division Forest Office, Hemant Parajuli.
The reason behind the death of the calf is still unknown.
