Dolma Impact Fund celebrates 10th anniversary, launches Dolma Climate Fund

Kathmandu, September 12

Dolma Impact Fund, Nepal’s first international private equity fund, celebrated its 10th anniversary with the launch of the Dolma Climate Fund on Wednesday. This new initiative aims to accelerate investment in hydropower, solar energy, and green transition projects in Nepal.

The event, held at the Hyatt Regency in Kathmandu, was inaugurated by Finland’s Ambassador to Nepal, Her Excellency Riina-Riikka Heikka, and Dolma’s CEO and Founder, Tim Gocher.

Keynote speaker Siddhant Raj Pandey, Chairperson of the Nepal Private Equity Association, emphasised the growth of private equity in Nepal over the past decade and its contribution to economic progress.

The Dolma Climate Fund was introduced by Dolma’s senior leadership, including Investment Director Shabda Gyawali and Managing Director Bidhyabaridhi Sigdel. The fund aims to attract private capital to boost Nepal’s participation in global climate finance.

A panel discussion moderated by Nikita Bajracharya explored the role of private equity in fostering cross-sector collaboration and driving climate resilience.

In a special video address, UK Ambassador Rob Fenn underscored the importance of Dolma’s role in Nepal’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and foreign investment.

The evening concluded with recognition of Dolma employees who have been with the company for over a decade.
