Yam Bahadur BK, a resident of Vyas municipality, has been sentenced by the Tanahun District Court to 18 years and six months in prison for raping a minor.
A single bench of Judge Komal Prasad Acharya gave the verdict on Sunday, holding the accused accountable for his actions.
BK has been convicted of raping a 14-year-old girl.
An employee at the court Min Bahadur Kunwar informed the court found BK guilty on June 28 and that the sentence was announced on July 9.
The court has ordered BK to pay a fine of Rs 600,000 and give the survivor Rs 15,000 as compensation.
A rape case was registered at Tanahun District Court on June 22, 2021, against BK who raped the minor on November 30, 2020 and forced her to get an abortion on May 27, 2021.
