Kathmandu, July 9
Nepal Police has apprehended a group of chain snatchers in Kathmandu.
Those arrested are Umesh Chhetri, Ravi BK, Rabin Damai and Rahul Majhi, informed SSP Manoj KC.
KC said this group has stolen eight chains from pedestrians over the past month.
“These people would snatch people’s chains and run away. There were many cases and when we got a clear picture of them on the CCTV, we arrested them,” said KC.
Chhetri managed the group, said KC. Chhetri was released on bail after being charged with stealing a motorbike.
“They used stolen motorbikes, changed the number plates and used to steal things,” said KC.
Police have also confiscated gold from the group.
Further investigations are ongoing.
