Biratnagar Kings, preparing for the third edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL), are training at the Purvanchal Cricket Academy in Uttar Pradesh, India.
All players except captain Sandeep Lamichhane have taken part in the training, which began on September 29. Lamichhane is with the national team for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 series in Oman. Lokesh Bam will join the team’s training from October 11.
At the academy, Biratnagar Kings are playing practice matches under floodlights against Indian players who have played in the Ranji Trophy.
The team is being trained by Biratnagar Kings head coach Dhammika Prasad and spin bowling coach Dinuka Sulakshana. Prasad said the training in India is going well. He said the players are receiving good training and are using the practice matches to strengthen their preparation.
“Our training in India is going well. The players are getting good training and are preparing themselves for the NPL through practice matches. The training and match practice here have helped the players’ preparation a great deal,” Prasad said.
With the third edition of the NPL in mind, the team has prioritised match practice alongside training.
